In the serie "Eons and a half late" *cough*, here is Laura's ring ! Very dear to me heart this one...

18Kt yellow gold, 2 diamond accents and a -mark my words- fabulous moonstone : Clear as a dew drop with a splendid blue sheen from all directions. (Btw, that's the open back we were talking about, Apocryphal-Angel...)

I'm trying to find as many as I can of these fabulous quality moonstones but they're either rare and/or awfully expensive *give me a time machine FTW !*

edit after cool advices : I'll buy a tripod, a cable release thingy and build an home made light box for the next shots. Eventually, I'll manage to get decent picts *argl*

Design is based on Viking woodcarvings.

Have you tried using the macro option on your camera? It looks like a flower. =)

Love the art, before yourself.
I am using it.. grrr.. but I just realized that I really need to buy a tripod thingy. That should help... I wonder if they have these cord like shutters for my old Nikon as well...

Wow. The moonstones I normally see look gritty compared to that one, and in that setting...just wow.
moonstones are my absolute favourites. my grandmother used to be a jeweler and is a gemologist and she had made some beautiful moonstone pieces that she gave to me.... and which were unfortunatly stolen when our house was broken into :( i still have all the opals though!

as far as the pics.... a tripod is a must, and a cable release would also be very very helpful (you can get them for almost all old nikons). is that as close as your macro setting will allow you to get? are you using an slr or a p&s?
it looks like you need to diffuse your light a little too - there are a lot of places that you can find great tutorials on very cheap macro set ups. you need at least a DIY lightbox.
your not using a tripod? the rings are so amazing and I really wish I would have discovered you before I got married. None the less tripods are wonderful you can get one for fairly inexpensive too...they don't cost and arm and a leg. good lighting which im going to guess is kinda weird with small jewlery that can have the reflection. play with it a little. The tripod will give you a little flexiblity to play with the setting more accurately instead of trying to hold still.

Oh wow, this ring is so beautiful..! I especially love how it glows under the light. I wish my fiance would get that for my wedding ring, I'd wear it with pride. Your talent once again astounds me ^_^

It is simply gorgeous. The moonstone looks really fabulous against the gold. The person to receive that ring is incredibly lucky.
