Illuminated test page for an ongoing project : Sister Erminet teaching horticultural science to novices from the SisterCot.

*yes, for those who went "wtferminetsistercot !?", Sister Erminet and SisterCot like in Louise Cooper's Time Master novels.. she allowed me to play around :love: )

For now, the border design is loosely adapted from William Morris Kelmscott's Chaucer B&W engravings. For the next plates, I'll design my own borders but I thought it was a nice idea for the test plate.

Watercolours/gouaches and gold leaf on walnut stained paper.
Real size is roughly 7 in. x 9 in.

Idea is to have the whole bunch ready for DragonCon !

Edit : Good scan at last. And the plate is sold :)

That may be true. I may well have Amazon. What I do not have is money, sadly. Or a library within convenient distance, which is even sadder (the college library doesn't count).

I've just seen the photo of you doing that inking border! Mad woman! (not that I can say much since i was doing the exact same thing not a day ago!) But the artwork and border are beautiful. Can't wait to see what you do with your own borders!

Wow this is simply amazing! *Zephyri linked me to your progress shots and to have to transfer that border more than once is mindboggling. I look forward to seeing your work at the art show again this year!
