Urnes Brooch by somk Urnes Brooch by somk
I keep on uploading in the same style.. :p Available in Bronze or Silver, this one is in 14 Kt Gold. I  it a lot. It's pretty rough and tough but imho it has a "barbarian" look with a twist... rich barbarian though :p
Still Urnes style 12th century. The original design was on the lid of a drum brooch.

Beautiful rrealy beautiful. what did you use tto make the mold, or did you not use one?

I don't mean to be picky, but this isn't furnace work, it says in the jewelry description that even peices that might otherwise belong in furnace work or blacksmithing belong in jewelry.

You're not nitpicking but this piece was uploaded way before the jewelry section even existed.. I just forgot to change the category...
Mold ? errr... I carve wax and then go through lost wax casting. When I make a mold, it's from the master and it's usually a vulcanized rubber mold, standard stuff in jewelry for lost wax castings.
Thanks ;)
